Easy Essays 6 is an e-book/downloadable product from our Really Writing series, containing two lengthy projects (with many how-to lessons within each project for skill building needed skills) at a middle school/junior high lesson (though younger students with advanced writing skills may use this book, as well as high schoolers who have not written many five paragraph expository essays yet). It is one of the nine “types” of books in Character Ink Press’ Really Writing Series. (Learn more about the entire series here).
This book contains a project in which the source is given (three favorite zoo animals) and a project in which students find their sources (original three favorite zoo animals). Each project is laid out in a step-by-step manner with every skill that is needed taught as a separate lesson (i.e. Thesis Statements, Checklist Challenge, Opening Paragraph types, Closing Paragraph types, and much more). You can find sample pages of this book here.
All of the Really Writing books are writing/composition books of two to
four lengthy lessons each, between 60 and 120 pages per book (depending on the level). These books contain writing projects of all types at grades two through twelve. Each book is type-specific (i.e. story writing, reports, essays, dialogue, and much more) and somewhat grade-level specific (see note below). The projects in the series all use the author’s signature “Directed Writing Approach,” which takes students by the hand every step of the way from prewriting (brainstorming, character and plot development, research, etc.) to skill building (for projects requiring certain skills, such as quotes or imagery or persuasion, etc.) to outlining (based on the type of writing) to writing rough drafts to editing (via the Checklist Challenge) to final copy. No vagueness. No questions as to what to write or how to write.
You and your students will love our Directed Writing, downloadable Really Writing books—and Easy Essays 6 is sure to delight with its animal-themed projects and constant hand-holding throughout.
